"Bassin de la
Villette" and the
"Rotonde de Stalingrad": Within 50m of the apartment,
you can have a drink or grab a bite to eat in one of the gourmet restaurants.
Even better after a long day of walking around Paris, you can
go
to shows on barges at the riverside, see a working lock
and a nautical base (see below).
- Cruising
on the Seine's tributries with Canauxrama: 100
m from the apartment, boat trips depart from the "Bassin de la
Villette" every day at 2.45 pm for a 2 1/2-hour romantic and
mysterious journey, including a Parisian's history of Paris,
“atmosphere” of the Hôtel du
Nord created by
Marcel Carné, Arletty and Louis Jouvet, working double
locks, ... More...
- To go
rowing, kayaking or canoeing: There is a nautical base on the bassin de la
Villette within 150m of the apartment. If this appeals to you, let me
know a
little in advance of your stay and I'll make reservations for
you (according to
availability).
- Stroll
along the "Canal
Saint Martin": Go
to the bassin de la Villette (50m from
the apartment) then
follow the lock and you'll arrive at the "Canal St Martin".
From here you can go to "Hôtel du
Nord" and relive “the
atmosphere” created by by
Marcel Carné, Arletty and Louis Jouvet and benefit from this
quiet water front lined by century-old trees…
- "Sacré
Coeur" and "Butte Montmartre":
You can get to this historic site in 10 minutes by metro line 2 (3
stations from Stalingrad to Anvers, 5 minutes) or 25 minutes by foot
from the apartment. You can see the "Sacré Coeur"
from the
"Bassin de la Villette", which is 50 meters away from the apartment.
- "Notre
Dame" and "Ile
Saint Louis", are 20
minutes away on metro line 7
(stop Pont-Marie).

favourites museums :
- Musée du Louvre, this
is only 15 minutes from the apartment, on the metro line 7 (stop
"Palais Royal - Musée du Louvre")
- Musée d'Orsay, for
its impressionist paintings
- Musée Guimet of Asiatic Arts,
because this has the world's largest Cambodian collection
- Musée Rodin for
its sculptures and its garden in which it is nice to walk
between the different sculptures
